A sterling compilation!! The Five Harmaniacs had a couple of tracks on the old vinyl album 'Jugs, Washboards & kazoos'. Both Great, but here's what would appear to be their complete output (both takes!!). How the banjo player plays his introduction to 'What makes My Baby Cry', I'll never know!! The Scorpion Washboard Band are another of the 'Washboard Rhythm Kings' sub-bands, maybe not quite as wild though! Absolute highlight of this though is the two tracks by the Red Devils featuring that madman of the steel guitar 'king Bennie Nawahi'!! Rip-Roaring, rowdy n' raucous kazoos n' scatin' all over the shop!! There's a better sourced version of 'Tiger Rag' knockin' about on a Hawaiian compilation (listed as The Black Devils), but anyway.... enjoy!
